Politics

Dave's post:

So I'll be honest, I'm a little bummed that Romney had to drop out of the race. Now I'm not foolish enough to trust him just because he is a member of the church ... he's a politician, inherently they are untrustworthy. That being said, out of all the candidates, he had intelligent answers to questions posed to him, and seemed to have some direction, something he was shooting for. He also seemed to have what it takes to organize, and git ur done.

Keep in mind, I'm not the most avid follower of politics. I watch clips here and there of speeches and glance over an occasional article. I'm not sure yet what to think of the Republican party now. It seems apparent that McCain is going to take the Republican side, and I have some mixed feelings about him. Mostly because I don't know much about him.

On the Democratic side we have Hillary, who to my surprise is still a strong candidate. Apparently america can't get enough Clinton. Her whole campaign seems to be, "Bash Bush", and "Yeah women". She also seems to have a knack for casting a dark cloud on any seemingly positive conversation ..... I hate her. Then we have Obama, who seems to have the best personality out of all the candidates, republican or democratic side. With him, he has done a fabulous job of rallying people to believe in a better America. The unfortunate thing is that I hear the word "change" a lot, but not a lot about what he would change. I'm not a huge fan of a lot of feel good talk with no actual concrete way of making it happen. The plans he has for "change" (there's that word again) may be there, but with my not that involved look into politics, all I've heard are feel good America talks, just not how to get to that feel good America.

I suppose that is why I liked Romney. It was easy for me to see where he stood, and he had plans, even in just the few short clips and articles I've read.

Well, there's my bit on politics. My last post about short people created some rift, maybe this one will too ... if I'm lucky.

Dave, Not a bad post. I agree with you on a lot of that. My big reason for supporting Obama is that I am sick and tired of the gridlock, the partisan politics. Obama seems like he could possibly marshall the support to push past the democrat republican divide. Sure, I don't agree with everything he says, but I think on the moral issues, he won't change much anyway, (abortion, etc.) Personally, I am ready for the war to end, and obama will do that, intelligently. Let me be clear, if Hillary is the nominee i will pay money for McCain's campaign. :P) Anyway, it is really exciting no matter how you look at it.

i am totally sad that Romney dropped out. he had my vote for sure. and i feel the same way about Mcain...a little iffy. But in my opinion he would be better than either Hillary or Obama. but that's just me.

Yeah, I should have tried to tick of Obama, and McCain supporters to cover everyone. I covered Hilary already. I'll give you a doozy next time. Keep in mind Ev, can't always have amazing posts like "Short People". --Dave
