Slice of Life

This is what goes on around here. Jeffrey climbs on everything at his level, he thinks it was put there just for him. This includes Cady dog. She is very patient when he climbs, head butts, and pats her.

Embudo Canyon

We went hiking in the Sandia foothills yesterday at a place called Embudo Canyon. Ruby and Jeffrey are great hikers. They love being outside, and I'll admit it makes me feel like a good Mom when we're done.

Bunny Death Mask

This just had to be posted, every time I scrolled past it on the camera I busted up laughing. Ruby made this bunny mask in preschool. I think it looks so creepy that it's hilarious. It looks like the bunny grim reaper of easter or something.

First I must thank Brit for these pictures, my memory is so bad that without them I think I would have no recollection at all of what I was doing Easter weekend a year ago. Jeffrey was a little over a month old and I was in bad shape. My back was giving me terrible trouble. I had a screaming demanding newborn and Dave was swamped with finals. So Mom flew down to drive me to Utah and my sweet mother in law helped care for me for several weeks. Mom came in spite of her own cold making her miserable and then continued to be tortured on my behalf while during her stay in Utah she caught her first stomach bug in 20 years. It was a bad one too, I know because I caught it 24 hours before her. But through the whole trip I was surrounded by family. Grant and Brit kept my mind off of my troubles with lots of laughter, and played with Ruby. My sister in law Tatia kept me well fed, Anne visited me often, and Marcilyn and I talked in between her homework assignments. Remembering my stay in Utah has made me reflect on how truly blessed I am to have such a supportive and loving family. You are priceless to me. Thank you for getting me through tough times. Easter a year later and my baby boy is a happy one year old and I can walk standing straight again.

Happy Easter

As we were setting up for this picture Dave says "This is ridiculous." He wasn't against it, it's just that he thought it was ridiculous. I am a ridiculous person, so I thought it was fun. I have bunny ears sitting around that I didn't want to go to waste. So Happy (ridiculous) Easter from all of us. Enjoy the hard boiled eggs and all of the misc. egg shaped treats the holiday has to offer.

Ruby June

I was looking through some old pictures of Ruby and I just couldn't believe how little and cute she was. So of course I had to post a picture. This is a 3 year old Ruby. I just loved her big squinty 3 yr old grin. I don't think I thought Ruby would ever be anything but a toddler and now we are coming up on the big #5. She has started to become such a nice big sister, I wasn't sure how it was going to go a few months back, but it's improving as he gets a little older. Now she will go in after he wakes up from his nap and they will both hold onto the crib railing and jump. Jeffery thinks it's the funnest thing ever and she likes making him laugh.

Jeffy Boy

Camila told me today that she was tired of looking at my finger. I don't really have anything exciting to blog about so here are a few pictures of Jeffrey standing by the dishwasher. He loves the dishwasher. If he sees it open he crawls like lightening to get to it. If the silverware is dirty he takes it out tries to lick it and throws it around. If its clean, he just throws it. But either way he feels it his mission to toss it everywhere. It pretty much drives me crazy and I have become very quick at adding a plate. It's in an out. No hesitation.
