Happy Birthday David...now about that cheesecake

Today is David's Birthday. I made him french toast for breakfast and did the big poster and everything. Yahooo! We are trying to make it a special birthday because last year he had a huge test and didn't really get to celebrate. So with that in mind I asked him months ago what kind of cake he wanted and he immediately decided on chocolate cheesecake. It's rich, it's decadent, it's to die for. I am very proud of my chocolate cheesecake. So I was really excited to make it for him. I started early this morning in order to get it properly chilled in time for tonight. I made the crust and baked it, I made the filling, poured it in, smoothed it out, and then went to put it in the oven. I am really not sure what happened next, I know I started to open the oven door, and then somehow, somehow, my hand caught the buckle on the springform pan. Before I even realized what I had done the springform pan popped open and dropped the entire cheesecake on the floor. It exploded! Dave's delicious birthday cheesecake exploded all over my kitchen. I wasted $20 dollars of ingredients, completely slimed my newly mopped kitchen floor, and have no birthday cake. What a disaster! So Dave, I love you with all of my heart, and I wish I had a cheesecake for you on your birthday. I guess there's always next year.

That is the kind of thing that would happen to me. I would have just made him eat a little bit even if it had been on the floor, just to make him appreciate the hard work!!! Happy belated birthday Dave!

You know, this is really sad, and it must say a lot about how much I love chocolate, but it still looks delicious...if I had been there I might have had to grab a spoon and sit down on your floor and dine to my hearts content!
